Since Ana Bella was named Emprendedora Social de Ashoka (Ashoka Social Entrepreneur) in 2010, we have become a global reference in co-creation processes which generate systemic change. “I was abused for 11 years by the father of my four children and no one helped me. No one noticed, not even myself. In Spain, only 1 in 5 abused women receive help. After leaving the shelter in 2002, I shared my story of overcoming abuse on television to show the 75% of the invisible victims that there is an alternative to being killed: finding happiness. Over a thousand women called me. The first one we helped stayed at my house, then, she went on to help others, and that is how we created the Fundación Ana Bella in 2006".
